Yesterday, I spent 12 hours in my co-founders house working on our product

Thankfully his wife did not kick us out, lol.
Working in teams is my favorite part of being an entrepreneur.
It’s why for me, the first year has been so tough.
I have been truly solo. Nobody else working full time on Thrive—and across the country from Michael.
Being in Milwaukee, and living a ten minute walk from him, has been f%cking awesome.
A lot of people will read this (including my parents, hey mom) and question whether or not it’s healthy to put in a 12 hour day on the weekend.
But the truth is, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be.
This is the most fun I’ve had in a long time, certainly in all my time building Thrive.
But anyway, I’ve had to get serious recently about really making our product better.
There’s a lot of small, silly things that haven’t worked the way they’re supposed to.
And when you don’t fix them immediately, that means you’ll end up spending a weekend fixing them later.
We built a full directory for our members. Now they know who’s in Thrive alongside them. They’re able to see info like email, LinkedIn Profile, company name, domain, etc.
They’re also able to filter down to things like location (city or state) and industry. Check it out.
We also made an event database so members can see all the upcoming events on our calendar, plus the recordings of every webinar we’ve ever done.
That took a lot of manual labor and a lot of time - most of this stuff was just sitting on my laptop (I know Abe Blackburn is cringing hard if they’re reading this).
BUT…
Michael is an automation animal.
He got us hooked up so that I never have to do any of this manually ever again.
I think it’s going to be a big win for our product—with a lot more coming.
I hired a full time head of member experience who starts in January (deets coming soon).
A lot of very cool stuff on the horizon—I’m pumped.
Yesterday was a great mental reminder for why I would wake up and choose this life even on its worst day.
I will take working in that guys house, with some great tunes playing, sharing some coffee and pizza, and building something we’re proud of…
Before I ever work for anyone again.
Feeling insanely grateful and motivated to keep building.
Let’s Thrive.
