Product. Product. Product.

Product. Product. Product.

That’s all that’s been on my mind this week.

After spending 12 hours in my cofounder’s house on Sunday, I knew we hadn’t even scratched the surface.

Recordings out on time. Making room for introductions.

These are must have’s.

We just weren’t doing a great job of it.

I spent most of Monday thinking through a lot of questions.

Who are we? What do we stand for? What are we trying to accomplish?

I’ve determined that it’s actually really hard to create the right product when you haven’t thought through those questions in enough detail.

I have opinions on what those answers should be. That doesn’t make them the right decisions.

But here’s what’s cool about Thrive—and I am reminded of it every time I see this community in action.

This is not just my community. It’s everyone’s.

“We.”

That’s the word that matters. Thrive is a place for all of us who experience the isolation that every entrepreneur faces.

I spent most of Tuesday hearing the feedback of these listening sessions we held with members earlier this month.

By the end, I knew most of the answers to those questions.

I felt better about where our product needs to go, and how to get there.

That’s what makes “community” different from every other type of business.

Your members will literally tell you what to build.

They’ll tell you what they stand for.

They’ll take you what they love and dislike.

They’ll tell you why they’re here.

They’ll tell you where they want to go—and how you can help them get there.

As much as I try to sometimes, I don’t have to build my business in isolation either.

I need Thrive just as much as our members do.

To John’s earlier message, I’m glad that Michael and I were able to knock out some much overdue work and make our product better than it was last week.

We’ve got a long way to go. We know that.

But my promise to our members is this: every week, we will be better than we were last week.

It means everything to us that the experience of our members continues to become something special.

That we continue to bring diverse perspectives into the community.

And ensure everyone feels like they have a voice in where we’re going.

With that in mind, I can’t wait to share some exciting news with you tomorrow.

Let’s Thrive.
